Walnut Market Update – February 2022
We have now started to see the first arrivals of late December 2021 walnut orders arrive in Europe. These arrivals have been slower than expected given the now standard shipping delays and staff shortages due to covid-19.
Walnut demand has been low in the last few weeks, which has forced pricing lower in an attempt to entice buyers into purchasing. This attempt has failed given that most distributors have a good stock holding.
China reports a record number od walnuts exported in 2021, doubling the kernels to 47,000 tons and in shell to 115,000 tons.
