Oil seeds are starting to dictate and heavily influence raw seed prices as adverse weather affects some sowing regions. Soybean planting is delayed in some regions of the U.S., and sowing regions in Ukraine, Russia, and Europe are delayed due to the heavy rainfall. Rapeseed prices are jumping as a result of weather problems in France. Palm oil prices have increased due to the severe effects El Nino has presented Southeast Asia. With such a pivotal time of year for some regions in the world, it will be interesting to see how the coming months unfold.
