The Poppy seed market has been relatively quiet as of late, however, it is widely anticipated that the market will no doubt bounce back at the end of Q1 into Q2. Also, it should be noted that in the Czech Republic, we are seeing some microbiological, high mould and yeast levels beginning to develop in the fields as a result of the very wet pre-season. This will no doubt have an impact on the 2025 crop and of course price if these continue to persist. To give confidence to buyers, Poppy seed from other origins such as Spain, France, Türkiye and Australia seem to be in line with the production of recent years and are developing well.
