Dried Figs - Q1 Market Update
Due to the approaching Ramadan season, we continue to see a lively market for figs. Traders can only sell a limited amount of raw material. However, any raw material we can find on the market has a count of 60 or more per kilogramme (smaller sizes lower than size 6). Unfortunately, there are no larger sizes available on the market.
If fig exports continue in the same volume for the next 6-7 months, we fear that we will be unable to find enough raw material to last until the next season begins.
- On a weekly basis (between 21.2.2021 and 27.2.2021), Turkey exports a total of 1.488.75 KG dried figs.
- Turkish dried figs were exported in total 42.707.215 KG from September 30, 2020 to February 27, 2021. The volume stated is 707.379 KG less than the previous year's deadline. In terms of exports, the United States ranks first (6.713 MT) for dried fig imports from Turkey, followed by Germany and France.
