Dried Apricot Market Report 30.05.24
Even though stock is going down, the high yield appearance of the crop is reducing prices. Apricot yield seems to be good in most regions, but some fruits may be freckled due to rainfall. Based on the current development of the fruit, we are expecting a better crop than the previous year. The volume of fruits varies between regions, and it is thought that the products will be on a smaller size this year, so a price difference is expected in the next season.
In the past months, raw material price for apricots reached 200 Turkish Lira, but this decreased to 150 TL as the crop quantity looked promising and market demand fell. Despite low demand, farmers are refusing to sell for less than 150 TL due to costs incurred from fuel, pesticide, labour and fertiliser.
According to the Turkish Exporters Association, 730,000kg of whole dried apricots were exported from Türkiye in the past week with an average price of $6,357/MT.
