December Cashew Market Update

There has been a 18% decrease in cashew imports by Vietnam compared to November 2020, totaling 139,000 tons. YTD figures currently show as up 95%. Vietnam has imported 771,000 tons from the Ivory Coast this year so far with an additional amount of 700,000 expected.

Vietnam saw 53,000 tons of cashews exported this month, now totaling just under 560,000 tons. The United States have imported around an additional 10% more that in comparison to the same time last year. Other players such as European countries saw an increase of just under 30%. This has led to a decrease in demand over the last few weeks. China has also seen a 5% rise on their year-to-year comparison.
