Cranberry Market Update – February 2022
The market’s worst fear of another poor crop has come true. Wisconsin growers have reported 30% few cranberries grown than last year. This s the 3rd consecutive year that crop yield has been poor. The low 2021 crop yield with the lowest carry in for 10 years will result in a very short market supply of cranberries. This in time may well be reflected in pricing with demand far outweighing ability to supply. The best case scenario for this year with a better than expected crop still along with the poorest carry in for 10 years will still result in a short supplied market.
