Californian Almonds Shipment Report 15.04.24
Shipments for March were 15.7% less than last year, but this was expected as last year's shipments were exceptional- a monthly shipment of 237M lbs is very good. Calculated inventory is almost 12% less than last year, sitting at 1350M lbs. If shipments for the last 4 months average around 200M lbs, the end product would be a carryout of 550M lbs. However, commitments are 11% below the previous year's level and the shipments of the last 4 months of the year averaged 1191.5M lbs.
Export shipments were down 18.7% with fewer shipments to India, Spain and the UAE. There were positive notes for Turkey, The Netherlands and Morocco. With favourable weather and good nut development on the potential 2024 crop, all eyes are now on the unofficial crop estimates and the acreage report on 24th April.
