Farmers have been blocking border crossings between Poland and Germany, throwing bottles at police in Brussels and gathering in Madrid to demand action on cheap supermarket prices, and unfair competition from abroad.

Agricultural ministers from across the European Union pledged to do more to cut red tape and help farmers as they convened in Brussels to discuss the crisis in the sector after weeks of angry protests. Polish farmers held the latest demonstration in front of the prime minister's office in Warsaw on Wednesday 6th of March, where protesters set fire to tyres. A resolution remains to be seen.
